Born for Greatness

Picking the first Bible character to launch StoryLine has been quite a challenge. There are so many contenders! But, we have finally settled on Jonathan. So coming January 9 we'll explore the life of a man "born for greatness".

Jonathan's name means "God has given", and as the first son of King Saul, his parents (like most parents I think) must have been very happy to welcome him. Jonathan is the first in the list of Saul's sons but, his claim to fame isn't his birth order but rather his selfless character and complete trust in God. He is one of those rare people who can balance the different aspects of his life. He shows us how we can balance loyalty to family and job with friendship that may require stepping out of the comfort zone and making difficult choices.
