In response to Typhoon Haiyan that pummeled Central Philippines November 8, 2013, Brad Thorp, President of Hope Channel made the following appeal to viewers:
All of us here at Hope Channel are saddened to hear of the recent devastation Typhoon Haiyan has left behind in the Philippines. Our prayers and support go out to everyone affected by the typhoon and to all the viewers of Hope Channel Philippines.
We’ve received reports of the destruction from our Hope Channel Philippines office. Yet all three Hope Channel broadcasts in that area continue to stream live to bring messages of comfort and hope to our viewers.
Thousands of people have died and many more have been displaced. The journey in restoring the lives of those who have suffered is going to be long and arduous. I urge you remember the people of the Philippines in your prayers. And out of the blessings you experience in your life, consider making a difference in some tangible way.
