On Sunday, October 9, the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Executive Committee in its Annual Council, sitting as the constituency meeting of Hope Channel International, Inc. (HCI), appointed this new Board of Directors.

“Hope Channel was created with the mission of sharing God’s Good News for a better life today and for eternity. We rejoice together to see all that the Lord has been doing through this global evangelistic media network and I aspire, through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, to remain faithful in carrying out this very important work,” said Derek Morris.

The Hope Sabbath School host, who has also served in a number of leadership positions in the Seventh-day Adventist church, has been President of HCI since 2016. Since then, the Hope Channel global network has almost doubled to 78 channels across all of the Seventh-day Adventist Divisions worldwide.

“God has blessed Hope Channel with unending miracles since its inception in 2003.  Serving with HCI is a privilege that I hold in high regard. I’m excited to witness even more miracles as I answer His call to continue as Vice President for Finance. I pray for the expansion of programming and areas reached so the fruit of our work results in winning more precious souls for the Kingdom of God,” Gideon Mutero stated. He has served in a number of financial leadership positions with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its institutions, including at the East-Central Africa Division and with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) International. Mr. Mutero has been with HCI for 11 years.

Vyacheslav Demyan, who joined HCI in 2019 after serving as Director General of Hope Media Group Ukraine for 11 years, emphasized, “God wants to do tremendous things through this media ministry. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Hope Channel strives to reach millions of people to proclaim the Three Angels’ Messages to a dying world. I pray that I will continue to be dedicated and committed to this sacred calling.” Mr. Demyan will guide the development and implementation of programming ensuring that missiological goals are met.

Also, the HCI Board of Directors appointed Sean Robinson as the new Vice President for Marketing and Development. He previously served as Association Secretary for the Chesapeake Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Director of Planned Giving and Trust Services, and Director of Development for more than six years.

“I am humbled to have the opportunity to join the Hope Channel International team and be part of the exciting developments happening in this ministry. I am excited and devoted to listening to God’s voice and guidance as I accept this appointment. I look forward to witnessing God’s mighty hand at work through Hope Channel,” he said.

For its part, HCI welcomes the new Board of Directors and prays that, by God’s grace, Hope Channel will continue to grow exponentially and continue its mission to share His love and be a blessing to the world through its evangelistic media ministry.

“Hope Channel is a vital part of our global Church and pertinent to our thrust of evangelism,” said Chair of the Board, Guillermo Biaggi. “We prayerfully decided on these leadership positions. We are certain that, through the Hope Channel network, God will use the inspiration of His Holy Spirit to reach every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.”
