The Sin of Pride and the Gift of Humility

This week on Hope Sabbath School, we explore the lesson "The Sin of Pride and the Gift of Humility." Why does God warn so strongly against pride? Because pride can lead us to believe that we don’t need Him, placing self at the center instead of God. In contrast, humility opens our hearts to recognize our deep need for Him and helps us see more clearly His incredible love and desire for a relationship with us. As we humble ourselves before God, we discover the beauty of depending on Him and growing closer to His heart. Join us this week on Hope Sabbath School as we study this important and life-changing lesson together.

Reality Check: Examining Your Spiritual Condition

We’re beginning a brand new series titled "Growing in Your Relationship with God", and this week’s lesson is called "Reality Check: Examining Your Spiritual Condition." While our primary focus should always remain on Jesus, there is also real value in pausing to honestly reflect on where we are in our walk with Him. Taking time for a spiritual self-examination helps us understand our strengths, recognize areas where we may be struggling, and invite God to continue His transforming work in our lives. So, how is your spiritual life? That’s the important and personal question we’ll be exploring together this week on Hope Sabbath School.

Reality Check: Examining Your Spiritual Condition

We begin a new series, Inspired Letters from Prison, exploring Paul’s writings from confinement. What can we learn from his faith and courage under house arrest? This week’s lesson highlights how God used his imprisonment to share the gospel through Philippians and Colossians. Though chained, Paul saw himself as Christ’s ambassador, reminding us that even in suffering, God’s presence and purpose remain with us.

Participating in the Mission of Jesus

Colossians 4 highlights how the early church joined together in “Participating in the Mission of Jesus” through many different believers—messengers, prayer warriors, leaders, encouragers, and helpers. Paul mentions people like Tychicus, Onesimus, Epaphras, and Luke, showing that God uses all kinds of people in His work. Even those who once failed, like John Mark, were restored and became valuable in ministry.

Living with Each Other

Drawing from Colossians 3 and 4, this study explores how Christ transforms the way believers relate to spouses, children, coworkers, and everyone around them. Paul emphasizes mutual submission, sacrificial love, patient instruction, and the avoidance of harsh or discouraging behavior. Even in difficult social structures, he calls Christians to work with integrity, treat others with fairness, and remember that all service is ultimately for the Lord.

Living with Christ explores how followers of Jesus can experience real change by seeking the things above and embracing the new life He offers. Paul reminds believers to let go of harmful attitudes and actions, allowing Christ to renew their hearts. He calls the church to clothe itself with compassion, humility, patience, forgiveness, and love. By letting God’s Word dwell richly within and by relying on the Holy Spirit, Christians grow in strength and spiritual focus.
